Message Do a bit of reseach on the subject, you'll find quite a few cases.

RPS flywheel segments can be replaced whenever they are worn to the end of their service life, whereas a few vicous launches can warp a solid insert instantly. Your daily driving also heat cycles the aluminum insert disc typically in an uneven fashion. Again this causes warpage but over a longer period of time.

I'm surprised you're arguing this point - the flywheel debate has been decided for a few years. Take a look at the replies - out of 8 of 9 recommendations are for the RPS, and one is from a (N) who hasn't been around long enough to know the difference. Maybe that's where you fall in as well.
